Now that the arm is being driven by Arduino I have access to Serial Communication! This is great as it allows me to communicate between separate Microcontrollers or between the Arduino and Raspberry Pi! You can see where this is going can't you.... Because of the Raspberry Pi's Internet capabilities, as well as it's ability to easily connect with camera's I can make a live stream of the arm on the internet. The plan is to have a section of this website that shows the livestream with some buttons below. When a button is pressed the arm will complete an action in real time! I will have games set up around the arm that people can play! With this setup anyone will be able to play with Jerry anywhere in the world! Awesome!
This is however going to require a few things:
- A Bench Power Supply as well as a replacement servo.
- Modification to the Website to accept the Livestream.
- Creation of a game area for the Arm.
- Writing the correct program for both the Arduino and Raspberry Pi with Camera Module!
Thanks very much for reading and see you soon!
Sam
P.S As a side note I am thinking about setting up a Kickstarter to put together some kits so that other people can build a Robot Arm using my design! Please you the poll below and vote whether you would be interested in one of these kits!
