However a trend I have seen recently is that everyone is trying to make things smaller, your phone on your wrist, a computer that can now be attached directly to the back of the monitor. As you can see, I'm going in the direction of the Raspberry Pi here. I think that big corporate companies are missing something here. All the time companies are trying to reduce their expenditure, as well as make things more sleek and more compact in their offices. Why then does the local Supermarket not have Raspberry Pi's running on all of their office desks? You might say you have to buy all the peripherals along with it, but you have to do that for a computer anyway. More tech savy people will comment on the compatibility of Linux with some of the systems required for bigger companies to run their operations smoothly. Yes ok this is a very valid point, but it would not take a lot of work for systems to be adapted to work with this OS, and if their is enough outcry for that to happen then software development companies will have to listen. People also may comment that their staff won't be used to using an OS other than windows or OSX, however the style of Raspbian is not far off of Windows. If anything it is just a dumbed down version, that has less features. But all of this makes for a smoother experience, that runs quickly. No one would ever have to complain about their office computer being slow again.
On top of all of this, it's extremely affordable. A considerable amount of money could be saved, because your spending £20, not £100+ for a system. Maybe there is something out their that has stopped companies from doing this. But I can't think of it. Chances are very soon, there won't be a big PC below your desk at work, there will be a little box sat next to the monitor.
Just a thought!
